Marketing and Management Majors

The Marketing and Management Department offers five majors:

Entrepreneurship Major
The Entrepreneurship Major gives students the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in growth-oriented businesses, develop business plans and clients, and accumulate start-up capital.

Event Management Major 
In the Event Management Major, students learn about the operations and management of diverse assembly facilities such as stadiums, arenas, performing arts centers, athletic venues, and more. Emphasis is placed on customer service, a major component in the Hospitality industry.

  • Event Coordinator
  • Convention Planner

Hospitality Management Major
A Hospitality Management Major focuses on the management and organization of hospitality and convention/meeting planning. Emphasis is placed on developing strategies to enhance customer service including quality lodging, recreation and food service. Opportunities for hands on experience and networking in the industry are provided.

Career options for a Hospitality Management Major:

  • Restaurant Manager
  • Hotel/Event/Destination Sales or Marketing Manager
  • Convention and Visitor's Bureau Director

International Business
The International Business Major places an emphasis on the organization and tasks of management, accounting, finance and marketing. Areas including importing/exporting, international trade, foreign investments, international banking, exchange rates, international law and global cultural issues are explored.
